Our motivation
The Baan Doi Switzerland Support Association was founded in 2014 during a visit to Switzerland by Graziella Ramponi Najai (co-founder of BAAN DOI). And it was a success!
Our aim is to support the BAAN DOI children’s home in Thailand with donations. But that’s not all! We are always trying to find sponsors for the expenses incurred here in Switzerland, so that the costs for the work are not incurred here in expensive Switzerland, but in Thailand. Because one thing is important to us: BAAN DOI should be an attractive employer in Thailand in order to consolidate its status in this area too.
What keeps us board members going is the knowledge that we are offering a future to a growing number of children and young people. Those who join BAAN DOI – whether in the children’s home or in the family support program – have hit the jackpot. They are given the chance to shape their own lives and are carefully supported in doing so.
Change begins on a small scale, yet it remains effective.

Who are the people at Baan Doi Switzerland?
We are all people who are touched by the stories of the children in BAAN DOI. And we are prepared to use our personal networks to generate donations. That’s why our board is a colorful mix! But this is also an opportunity to continue to pursue and realize creative ideas.
Since Graziella’s return to Switzerland with her family, the quality of our work has changed once again. Graziella, who as a co-founder of BAAN DOI can provide information and knowledge directly, brings new input. Seeing how close the children are to her also reminds us again and again how important the work we do is.
BAAN DOI is a project close to our hearts. The visions that are being strived for and implemented in Thailand motivate us to keep going.
The opportunities we currently have to generate donations are considerable.
For example, we have our tried-and-tested charity dinner in November. In 2021, we held our first classical charity concert and the first charity bike tour around Lake Constance took place in collaboration with the German and Austrian support associations.
We are also regularly supported by restaurants that sell tap water for the benefit of BAAN DOI.
