The BAAN DOI Austria support association was founded in Golling an der Salzach in 2012. Our aim is to support Barbara Meisl’s heartfelt work so that the project can be maintained and further expanded. In this way, even more disadvantaged children can be supported.

By selling the products of our handicraft club, organizing flea markets, Christmas markets and many other activities and events, we draw attention to the excellent work of BAAN DOI and contribute to the financial support of the orphanage.

The Board

Elisabeth Loipold  Chairwoman
lives in Kuchl, is a mother of two grown-up children and works full-time as a social worker.
Elisabeth was able to work with BAAN DOI in Thailand for some time in 2019 and is enthusiastic about the quality of the work on site. She has taken the people at BAAN DOI to her heart and is now happy to be able to support them from home.

Simone Affritsch Chairwoman
lives in Golling, is the mother of four daughters and has been friends with Barbara Meisl since the 1st grade. Simone visited BAAN DOI in 2010 and wholeheartedly supports the children’s home together with the Austrian sponsoring association.

Maria Meisl   Treasurer
lives in Kuchl and has been running her own business for 21 years. She is a person who likes to actively support projects close to her heart and people in need. As Barbara’s older sister, Maria has been to Thailand several times and has a close relationship with BAAN DOI and the orphans.

Marion Loidl  Treasurer
lives in Kuchl and works as a commercial employee. A visit to BaanDoi encouraged her to continue supporting the children. Marion feels part of this unique and valuable project with great joy and commitment.

Michaela Kirchberger   Secretary
lives in Kuchl, is the mother of her daughter Melina and a part-time employee. She is not only Barbara’s cousin but has been a “Baan Doi fan” from the very beginning. Meggi (her nickname) has visited the BAAN DOI children’s home twice so far. A lot has happened between her first visit in 2010 and the one in 2020. “It is an honor to be part of the BAAN DOI team Austria, a pleasure to see the children grow up and the project continue to grow.”

Monika Malter  Deputy
lives in Golling, is married and the mother of two boys of primary school age. She was able to visit BAAN DOI in 2009 and was overwhelmed by the country, the people and their culture.
Monika is an accountant by profession and also runs a small farm.
